- THE BOOK - - "PASSAGE
TO VALHALLA"
- Is a startling first person
account of what it was like to drop bombs on
other human beings - - and then to experience
what it was like to be on the receiving end of
those falling and exploding bombs. It was written
in those fiery skies over Europe during World War
II by the more than 79,265 American Airmen - -
more than 79,281 British Airmen - - the
unrecorded number of German Airmen - - who gave
their lives in that war. These intrepid Airmen
had the courage and resourcefulness to refuse to
be turned back by the ferocity of battle.
- It is 320 pages of electrifying descriptions of
aerial combat and more than twenty pages of
actual photos. More than one reader has said
"PASSAGE TO VALHALLA" is destined to be
one of the most memorable classics to come out of
World War II.
- THE VIDEO - - "PASSAGE TO
VALHALLA"
- Is a vivid photographic account made by combat
photographers who, themselves, risked their lives
to obtain these pictures for all future
generations to see. They had to keep the cameras
running while watching their fellow Airmen
falling out of their bombers - - some with their
bodies on fire , others without a parachute and
still trying to reach out with a helping hand.
They filmed sights that no Hollywood Director
could ever duplicate.
- It is a vivid account of the untold story of the
rescue of more than eleven hundred (1100) POW's
more than four hundred miles behind German lines
in two days without a single casualty. Filmed was
the German Messerschmidt 109 that Colonel Jim
Gunn was bolted into to effect that rescue.
- THE PAINTING - - "THE SIEGE OF
PLOIESTI"
- Is a 11" x 12" hard backed painting
created by the Author who commissioned an artist
to do the painting of the aerial bombing. This
painting was expanded on the actual photograph of
that plume of smoke - - through the smoke screen
set up by the Germans - - from the oil fires
caused by the exploding bombs. The original
photograph was taken from another B-24 Liberator
Bomber after they had released their bombs.
- B-24 LIBERATOR AND B-17 FLYING FORTRESS
MODEL BOMBERS
- These models as shown are museum quality plastic
models - - 1/48" scale created by the author
- - are individually built and therefore are not
available in great quantity. They are built on
order, each bomber is carefully constructed and
shipped with insurance for safe delivery. All
turrets do rotate - - the guns swivel - - the
propellers turn and the finish is expertly
applied.
- "DESTINY DEB" piloted by Dana Varvil ,
co-pilot Lenus Bahti with Author Bill Fili in the
nose turret was deputy 15th Air Force lead plane
on the first high level to Ploiesti. All ten crew
members survived being shot down on the next high
level mission and were taken prisoner. Destiny
Deb's crew were the lucky ones. When a bomber was
shot down with ten men on board on average less
than three men survived the ordeal.
